The Design Process

Step One - Phone Call
We will discuss the scope of your project and how I can help you to achieve the end result, whether it is a staging consultation, interior design, remodel or new home design.

Step Two - First Meeting
We will go over the details of completing your project and I will gather information about your living preferences, budget & style. We'll discuss and I'll take a look at what you do like about your existing home and we'll discuss the feasibility of your desires to change it.

Step Three - Estimate/Agreement
I will prepare an estimate/agreement for the project and mail it to you.

Step Four - Review and Sign Agreement
After you have signed the agreement and send the deposit amount, I'll call you to schedule an appointment to measure and prepare to begin the process of drawing up the design or staging your home. The preliminary drawings will involve rough sketches until you have approved the "final draft." This is a process that sometimes takes several meetings, depending on the project, but the final design will be exactly what you have envisioned.

Step Five - Finalize Drawings, Engineering Review & Submission for Permits
If the project involves the preparation of permit ready plans, the rough sketches will be drafted into CADD and professionally packaged. The architectural plans for custom homes or remodeling projects will most likely need Structural and Lateral Calculations prepared by a licensed Engineer. The Architectural CAD files will be transferred to Engineers and Truss Manufacturers for the preparation of their estimates and their drawings so that you don't have to pay someone to duplicate the information. After the Engineers are done with their work the package will be ready to print and submit to your local building department.
